Welsh Labour Grassroots councillors, supported by the Muslim Council of Wales, have come together to launch a public letter calling on the leaders of the UK’s national political parties to back international calls for a ceasefire in Gaza.

As the Israeli government continues to indiscriminately bomb civilians in Gaza, as well as cutting off supplies of food, water, fuel, and aid, the growing international call for a ceasefire goes far beyond the left.

Polls across the Western world show overwhelming support for an immediate cessation of war, with 76% of Brits saying that there should be an immediate ceasefire.

As the home of the Labour left in Wales, Welsh Labour Grassroots stands unequivocally in solidarity with the Palestinian people, against the occupation of Palestine and the siege of Gaza, and for an immediate ceasefire coupled with a peaceful solution to crisis.

We urge Councillors in Wales, on the left or not, to sign this letter and to add your voice to the growing calls for peace. If you are a member or supporter of ours, please consider contacting your local Councillor and ask them to sign the public letter.
